Adrian Newey joins Aston Martin in new £25m-a-year role after Red Bull exit
Newey will start work for Aston Martin from March next year and will help the team prepare for the 2026 regulations change

Adrian Newey says he believes Aston Martin have everything they need to become a championship-winning team after committing his “long-term” future to the Lawrence Stroll-owned outfit.

Newey, 65, will begin working at the team’s Silverstone HQ from March 1 next year, taking up a new £25 million-a-year role as managing technical partner after leaving Red Bull.

Widely regarded as the greatest designer in Formula One history, Newey’s car designs have won 12 drivers’ and 13 constructors’ championships in stints with Williams, McLaren and Red Bull.

Newey quit Red Bull earlier this year, saying he wanted to “do something different” after so long at one team, and was initially expected to join Ferrari.
