Bystanders ‘smashed car windows to get to driver’ who ploughed into pedestrians Somali-born British man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving Bystanders tried to smash the windows of a car in an attempt to get to the driver after it ploughed into a group of pedestrians in London. Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after five people were injured in the incident. The Somali-born British national is also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and criminal damage, and will appear before Willesden Magistrates Court on Monday. CCTV footage showed the white Seat crashing into pedestrians on Ealing Broadway, west London, at 2:29pm on Saturday before reversing and driving away. Witnesses recorded people kicking the vehicle and shouting for the police as it sped off. The driver was arrested in Grange Park, around half a mile away, a short time later.
