what's the difference between a heat pump and oil fired central heating boiler?
A heat pump has 400,000* moving parts many of which may not last 20yrs (bearing etc). And at that relative near future date the heat pump will cost 39 times the price of the original oil fired boiler cost in parts and labour to replace.
An oil fired boiler has an injecter to clean and replace every 3 yrs and will last 'until the oil runs out'.
The winners are: communist China, green sell outs & traitors in government who tell themselves they are saving the planet, and European heating engineer fitters.
*possibly 375,000 fewer
