They say it will be initially on the estimate you declare. So you say 5k miles and they randomly inspect and find you did 7k and will no doubt fine you at a 20x multiple for the extra 2k. Had an issue with our van a few years back where we changed battery and the odometer switched to km. Which Hamstress didn’t notice and we MOTd it. And the year after when they MOTd it again they noticed the mileage had gone down….. Tried to get DVLA to correct it but they wouldn’t. So appears that after usually doing about 3k miles a year we’d suddenly done 25k one year…. No doubt Rachel would have the house for such a transgression.
