Looked at investing some serious dosh in them a few years back when running the family office. Only as the principal knew the founder…. Like you I couldn’t see how they could challenge the old banks (however archaic their systems, and they are). But the clincher was the likes of Revolut etc who we were also looking at. Much leaner operators. Also the brand always looked a bit cheap and nasty. We didn’t invest.
