Made chicken and chips this week, used 'ordinary potatoes, 5 kilos in a string net' nowhere NEAR as good

as the spuds sold in 2.5 kilo net as 'frying potatoes'.

I dunno, I made a mix. 60% of the peeled batch I decided to fry, the other 40 went into the oven with the chicken (about 45 minutes after the chicken. I basted the chicken with peanut oil and salt instead of colza.
I didn't oil the potatoes after I took them out the pressure cooker.

They are Ok but not usual legend quality. THE chicken, ok, no complaints there. The small unchipped whole spuds I put in the fryer. Not great. The chipped chips from the same batch of spuds I put in the fryer (5kilo cheaper spuds all we're talking here) not great. Overcooked and can't cope with it.

I went to an art exhibition in the church down the road last night and as it turned out was given a catering box of the rest of the sliced pizza, quiche lorrain and some peanuts. Now I have a fridge full of half a chicken, a mix of chipped and whole fried potatoes as well as some roasters, and a shed load of pizza/quiche squares.

People think it's easy™

Well done on having children and them growing up and doing well.

Saw the 5 Irish lads driving wrong way up motorway. Seems like a tick tock trend, but the story is behind the paywall.

I see from the comments, 4 injured in the car they smashed into.
