I think I have mentioned the miracle of coconuts before. When a nut falls it is of course the seed. The
seed contains everything needed to force the leaves and roots out through the shell and in the case of the roots into the ground. . It also contains everything the nut needs to grow for at least the first six months. Amazingly it matters not at what angle the nut falls onto the ground the leaves grow straight up and the roots grow straight down. How is this possible. The coconut mostly grows in sand, where after 5-8 years it will produce a crop of nuts. Typically a mature tree produces 50 nuts or more a year, out of sand , how so. Coconut trees have travelled around the world by sea, the only land plant known to do this , which is why they grow on beaches. Any trees up hills have need brought there by mammals, usually man.
This is the nut I brought up to the house and planted, it already had leaves and roots.
We shall follow its progress and also the Moringa trees
