Sad news arrives about the former glass collector in my Nottingham wine bar. Upon the opening and its immediate success, a young 16 year old in yer face cheeky kid begged me to give him a job. He started collecting glasses and bussing tables. He was very impressed with our radio advertising and the response including the arrival in the bar of “stars “ such as Kid Jensen. Move the clock on and he forms a double glazing company called Cold Seal Windows which at one point was the midlands if not the UKs biggest radio advertiser to the point of ffs. He became rich quite young but alas was ripped off by his girlfriend and her horrible mother and his partners to the point where Cold Seal ceased trading. I saw him around Nottingham in later years.
