Norway has a special trade relationship with the EU through its membership in the European Economic Area
(EEA), which provides access to the EU's single market, but it is not a member of the EU itself. This means Norway must follow most EU rules for the single market, but it is not part of the customs union or the Common Agricultural and Fisheries Policies. As a result, trade is mostly tariff-free, but origin rules apply, and Norway is not subject to all EU trade policies.
