They are so flexible... Original cheque they sent me has expired, but if the refund is not from last tax year, they cannot do an direct credit to my bank. So has to be a new cheque for same amount. I cannot easily pay a cheque into my UK account here, so said can you send it to my brother ? That would require the cheque be issued to him, and I would have to instruct HMRC by letter, signed, name of brother ect, etc.. So in the end, they will send me a new cheque here, which I will then send to my brother, who will pay it into my account..
