Bollox though, in reality they have different times for same things
How School Hours Change Across the Country
• Eastern China (e.g., Shanghai, Beijing): Schools typically start around 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM because the sun rises much earlier in the east.
• Western China (e.g., Xinjiang, Tibet): Because China only uses Beijing Time (UTC+8) nationwide, the sun rises much later in the far west—sometimes as late as 9:40 AM or 10:15 AM in winter. As a result, schools in places like Xinjiang often start around 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM on the clock to align with actual daylight.
• Unofficial Local Time: In western regions like Xinjiang, many local residents and institutions informally shift daily life (including school and work schedules) later by about two hours to match the natural solar cycle, even though official government business follows Beijing Time
