comme de froments >>> hotpots, UK, 1m ago When I was young you could walk out of a job on a Friday and walk into one on the Monday, there was no min wage, you didn't need one because a company knew to have good staff they had to pay good wages. We had thousands of factories, industry, busy high streets full of shops. Welfare was something you needed for a very short time because we had loads of jobs going. People retired at 60/65 freeing up jobs for the young and allowing the old to have some quality of life after working for years. The NHS worked as the numbers using it were lower and children were born to fill all the future jobs going. Successive governments wrecked this country and just look at the state of it now and still they keep on in the same vein, bring in more people, tax people more, give more money away, raise the state pension age further. Hampster says ... 'it's fine'.
