I was telling Hamlet on our last drive into London what it was like in the 80s. I’d often drive in of a Saturday night, park for free on Pall Mall. Drive home in the early hours racing other hot hatches down Knightsbridge. Now you get excited by a 30 limit, as most of it is an excruciating 20mph. Cameras everywhere, speed, yellow boxes, red lights. Hamstress who’s a speed merchant hates driving there, I’m ok. Can’t take my Lotus there of course, too uneco for Khant. But the amount of bus and cycle traffic is massively increased over what it was back in the day, so,drivers need to share.
