We have all sort of strange stuff around. Some silver coins in a certain corner (NW facing)... Plus Mrs FTD will cut the straps or otherwise render useless a pair of shoes before throwing out as very bad for a stranger to walk in you old shoes. I am wise enough not to query any of it.
