They're trying to kick off here the last few nights but burning a few wheelie bins aside, looks pretty
half hearted. Wagons loaded with water tanks out first thing, literally washing the scum from the streets.
Tonight there's police and soldiers on most corners. The protestors dont stand a chance.
Eating lunch earlier, table opposite engaged me in conversation. Pleasant enough then they start whittering on about eating with their right hand. Personally I had engaged my right to operate the fork and mostly had a piece of bread in my left, in order to scoop up loose bits of the fish tajine. The bread being a nod of respect to their culture. Or so I thought.
Apparently eating with the right hand is a show of benediction, or Sunnah, to the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
Thing is I mentioned, when i'm not eating I sometimes use my right hand to finger birds.
Took a moment or 2 for them to get it. Then silence.
Uncomfortable with the awkward silence,,
I enquired,,
'What are your views on the Sufis?',,
