Having been done for 82 (limit is 80, magistrates sympathised!) many years ago I actually agree that 80 is too generous a limit. As I was quite squiffy, and tried to outrun the plods chasing me but they nabbed me before I could run inside my house (giggle). But my driving was deffo impaired otherwise I’d have escaped. Soon as the ban expired I got my Lotus, first insurance quote was £12k…. Got it for £1500 eventually.
