14 yrs ago ... !! Everytime this song gets to the end I want to replay it. Got teh CD on and something

strange has happened recently that confirmed what I always thought to be true, sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. In this case a Luxman L5 amp, .. which I came upon in amazing circumstances around 2022?. I really can't be sure when it was, but rememeber everything else very clearly. .. not least because I paid a fiver for it.
I was at a bootsale, and nearly finished looking, came upon a guy with a tape deck and some other bits i forget what. He says after we've been chatting a minute or two, I've got a luxman amp at home, I only live over there, would you like that as well? His house was almost next door to the field, nice detached place, 50 meter drive. Get inside, 'this is it'. I be like, a fiver you say,? ok then. (a bit like Elwood Blues at one point in the movie where he can't believe what he's getting)

anyway, in tests over the last few years I found it too clinical and lacking in something. Fiddly tone controls, unconventional lead plug in arraingment under the body of the amp, a bit cold sounding? But solid and built like a tank, 100% good. I planned to sell it, and indeed thought I'd listed it ... (but discovered also yesterday after listening to it again, I hadn't listed it ). Anyway, it's a great sounding amp, that in less than 24 hours has gone from the one on the shelf I didn't like muc to the one that stays on and demands you listen to your cds and then replay Pople by Birdy at least 4times on the trot.
