Can you identify either the line on the London underground (Think it may be the Northern Line) or the approximate
date ?
GROK:
This is a well-known 1973 photograph of Michael Caine on a London Underground train at Aldwych station (taken on 29 July 1973), during filming for the movie then titled Drabble (released in 1974 as The Black Windmill).

It is not the Northern Line. Aldwych was the terminus of a short, low-traffic branch of the Piccadilly Line (from Holborn). The station (originally opened as Strand in 1907) operated a shuttle service and closed permanently in 1994 it has since been used frequently as a film location. The film itself includes Underground sequences shot at Aldwych (and related platforms dressed for other stations).

The photo was taken by Alisdair MacDonald (Mirrorpix). Contemporary captions and sales of the image consistently give the date, location, and filming context above. Your guess of the Northern Line is understandable (deep-level tube stock and general look), but the specific station and branch confirm Piccadilly.
