early days yet, literally not even noon day 1, but ... after 6 months, March 2026 to Sept 2026 I have made

what could well be the 'core' 'gait' and 'posture' modification I thought I should have/needed to have, at least, prior to any knee replacement or other work.

I needed to get my muscles in balance, unclenched, trapped nerves untrapped, years long dislocations dislocated and reset and tendons relaxed and stretched.

Last night was quite uncomfortable (as opposed to the usual comfortable in bed uncomfortable out). I woke at 5 and slowly came down for a pain killer. It felt different first thing out the bed than normal straight away. I still had to walk gingerly, but it got better, and now, 2 hours after being active

It's been the last 7day push that's done it. THru hell, out the other side type stuff.

Last Friday, I went down the road to the art expo at the church 100 yrds down the rd, I was boloxed before I arrived.

Last saturday I arranged to go and see someone who lives uphill about about 300 meters away. I took the bike...

I was so uncomfortable at his house, having to sit down but then when I stood 10minutes later as uncomfortable being unable to put any weight on my knee.
But, at some point I got on the rug and pushed my left leg out to the side and something eased off.

THe next day I continue working on the rug .. but still wasn't getting anywhere really. And then I had a commitment to honour to finish moving stuff out a mad neighbours garage to a new one she was renting out of town (while house owner does work in her garage)

Monday. Took last car and trailer load of stuff., (this garage sort out has began in January when landlord gave her 3 months to empty it ... I have never ,ever, seen so much crap. i took stuff to the tip (when I was passing I'd dispose of it), did a boot sale for her at the end of may (I finished the day unable to walk!!! SOme bloke on the field was pulling my ankle as I lay on the grass, pulling my foot with all his weight)

It was bad. THE ground at the boot sale was bad, I walked around in the am to look at other stuff, and gradually the knee pain became total.

ANyway, that was end of may,.. June the fleas arrived so began lying on the kitchen floor. COler, harder, tiled. But ok. different.

ANyway anyway, fast forwartd to last weekend and coming back from Nico's on bike, finishing the move for Vivianne, end of fleas, Vovlo steering belt to buy, garage to sort out, after Viviannes stuff finally gone to accept volvo to do the job ... and .... I'm still boloxed.

Usual long sessions on the lounge carpet, but big breakthrough last night on the kitchen step ladder.
Method: put feet on steep, arms on higher step above head where they can aid in supporting weight if needed.
lift left leg off step, and lower body weight on right knee, bending knee and lowering body, then raise, and repeat ... no problem on right.
Reverse ... wow,.. leg trembles, strain, inability to lower or raise, no strength. Today, just done 10, and 'am walking about and forgetting I have a bad leg'

But,.. let's not get too excited already,. although I think I may have achieved what I set out to do in march,. undo at least 15 years of : foot ankle knee pelvis back misalignment.

There's been a lot of cartilage knee wear, but that's another thing entirely. Already with the shift the wear is 'not noticeable' ie, not uncomfortable, painful to walk, feels more natural and yes, you 'forget' the problem as not aware of it.,
/// (although, see 'early days yet' and allow for wild optimism and general n'importe quoi delirium as we know I get excited only to be then crushed by realities that exist at that time - see failures to date)

,. and then there's injections you can have once a year (I've resisted this since first offered in 2018 as I felt 'something wasn't right all over' and I didn't want to fix .. paint over a mouldy wall'

I've lost 14kilos since then, cutting out white sugar in coffee for a start.

Yesterday I had to use crutches to get up to the post office, but I felt I'd moved things about and my gait had changed but needed to keep the weight off.

Then, about 5pm, I got on the step ladders. The combination of months of pulling and stretching and this and that combined with the raw 80kilo lift reality really bought home the bacon.
anyway, we'll see!!! But i'll maybe give it a day before I go down and start on the volvo. I don't want to go down there, be bent over the engine bay, need more tools and have to climb back up then back down (a runged ladder), but since I picked up the belt on Tuesday I actually now feel like changing it will be physically ok to do.

ps, In march I could not stand (balance) on my left leg.
