A timely reminder - tomorrow we are having lunch with some friends Two of them are the people I was out with that evening and we watched "News at Ten" at my flat in Marylebone. I remember the next morning at work my first call was from the lady who ran the options desk at Goldman Sachs (J Aron) who we used to trade with quite a lot. She asked me whether we could deal with her. I made a split second decision and said "Yes" - we hadn't been told we couldn't - but I did afterwards wonder whether I'd been a little hasty, once I read somewhere that the ALCO at Goldman had been sitting late into the night to decide whether they were still in business!
