suspect it's used a lot in restos and supermarket products like ready meals and a bunch of other stuff
because it's significantly cheaper than olive oil
think unrefined sesame oil is pretty much ok though as long as you don't cook with it at too high a temperature...max 160-ish (similar to cooking with olive oil in that respect)
