Gold bar seller promoted by Nigel Farage chased by HMRC Direct Bullion, which has paid Reform’s leader over £400k, says winding-up petition will be withdrawn
A gold bullion dealer which has paid Nigel Farage nearly half a million pounds to promote the business has been hit with a winding-up petition from the taxman.
Direct Bullion, which has handed the Reform leader around £415,000 for his work as a brand ambassador, was issued with the court action by HMRC at the end of November, court filings show.
Mr Farage has registered hundreds of thousands of pounds in payments from Direct Bullion since he started working for the company last year, according to Parliamentary transparency records.
A winding-up petition is one of the most serious actions a creditor can take to reclaim an unpaid debt. The court action can ultimately lead to a forced sale of a company’s assets, although many are settled before reaching that stage.
