biggest muscle in body, arse muscle (glutious maximus). Watched paul Mccartney 2025 concert the other week,
when he turned his back to the audience you could see 'no arse'. He's 84? ish. I've been working on these incredibly important muscles since yesterday when I felt absolutely done in after being up and down step ladders and stairs all day (putting a skylight in barn roof)
Brilliant for core strength and 'the number 1 reason people need to go into car, can't get out of a chair, can't use a toilet'
Gluts. Get em working, or firing as they like to say in Hamerica.
Lie flat on your back, no arch to the spine, bend and raise legs, keep feetapart but parallel to hips, you should be able to touch your ankles feet with your outstreched arms (hands). Your back is flat on the floor, not arched no. Feet, once you begin to lift your backside off the mat the weight will be on your heels and front of feet. Before lifting, clench butt muscles. Lift your lower back and arse off ground. Keep weight on balls and front part of feet. Go as high as to make a straight line between top of knees and head.
Hold, relax descend while keeping the arse* muscles clenched. Repeat.

also check out his vids on sitting in a chair, how chair should be high enough to allow thighs to fall downwards (there's a link at the end of the vid to that one)
* arse, butt, maximus glutinous? backside. Biggest muscles in the body, do 60% of all work when lifting if working right, hamstring (back of thighs) do 20 and err I've forgotten, but lower back does 20%. If this gets out of balance and gluts only doing 35%, problems arise.
