Yes, only a small % of a bomb's uranium or plutonium is 'fissioned' at the time of explosiong I heard the
other week. The rest sort of doesn't do much. Just gets blown up along with the rest of the material. Melts etc. I'm sure modern thermonuclear hydrogen bombs get a much higher rate of return/bang for buck. More like 45%?
