Bat sh1t crazy ….
Army spends taxpayer cash on ‘bat disco’ Protective measures described as ‘overkill’ amid urgent push to rebuild Britain’s Armed Forces
British defence chiefs were forced to install a “bat disco” lighting system at the country’s biggest military training ground to comply with strict nature laws.
The special lighting at the Salisbury Plain Training Area in Wiltshire – a vast site owned and operated by the taxpayer-funded Ministry of Defence (MoD) – is designed to ensure bats can escape safely if they are disturbed by soldiers conducting nighttime exercises.
It is understood to have been fitted at Copehill Down, the mock village on the plain that is used for urban warfare training, during an upgrade last year.
