I do it thus: 1st part 12 min = 1/5 of an hour. So 360 / 5 = 72 degrees. So 360 - 72 = 288 degrees. BUT hour hand ... 6'oclock = 180 degrees. 4/5 to 7 = 4/5 * 30 degrees = 24 degrees. So angle = 288 - (180 + 24) = 84 degrees.
