You're right about the ground v pot. So 12 years ago I purchased 2 bay trees for the restaurant. Placed
either side of entrance. Then 1 was stolen so I took the other home. Left in a pot for a couple of years then planted into ground.
It's about 12foot tall now.
Tried many times to propogate and then this year I find that a single cutting has taken - voilą.
And now the seedling over here.
Good cos I like the flavour in sauces, Bolognese, stock, stews etc
