Talking of midnight mass, I spent the evening with my near neighbour and at about 5 to midnight she told
me there was a mass at the church,. although in her words, 'something's going on at the church'. I declied the offer to go as it was cold, stiff with arthritus, and just getting more comfortable on the couch. She made a typical frech spread - snails, salmon asparagus tomatoe salad, chicken and grattin (mixed veg inside under the grilled cheese, coffee. She's ok Viviane, but after several previous attempts to get to know her better (after a drink) I didn't bother. She looks a bit like Viviane Leigh but after she's been through the civil war, put on about 25 kilos, and had a brain transplant.
