Police Federation boss arrested for corruption Exclusive: Mukund Krishna and two others held after investigation into alleged financial wrongdoing
The chief executive of the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) has been arrested on suspicion of corruption, The Telegraph can reveal.
Mukund Krishna was arrested along with two former national board members by the City of London Police.
The arrests followed an investigation into allegations of financial wrongdoing at PFEW, which represents more than 145,000 rank-and-file officers.
Mr Krishna, a former management consultant, is the first chief executive of the PFEW, and is reported to earn more than £700,000 a year.
On Wednesday, officers carried out a series of raids on premises in Wales, Somerset, London and Surrey to arrest suspects and gather evidence.
‘Complex and active investigation’ Det Supt James Halkett, of City of London Police’s domestic corruption unit, said his team was “leading a criminal investigation into allegations of fraud made against three individuals connected to the national PFEW”.
