used a lumpy short thick bit of oak and a 30cm piece of charmille (hornbeam) across it and now embers, and room temp battling against 100 sq meters of unheated air encroachment (kitchen and first floor). Still I note it's 16.4 degrees on the thermometer (down from mid 17) but now missing the near fire radiation and it's either load up or jacket up (or do neither and go to bed once The Outlaw Josie Wells has finished.) Since the 40cm video log (put on about 4:45) I've only used the above two logs!
