Sounds like 'top fking banana'. Jobs for ll, Tottenham Court rd HiFi shops, peugeot 405/citroen BX diesels with Turbos, and of course, 3 and 5 series BNWs. the 6 cylinder BMW 525 tds for me was likeing 'finding world war 2'. After becoming a private hir e driver while in higher education (more time wasted really) I thought de french tech in diesel was acceptable. Then in 2002 I bought a TDS and knew why the Germans had built a V1 and V2, knew that if the British hadn't cracked the codes and given Stalin all the data on the Kursk invasion the Panther and Tiger tanks would have cleaned up, knew how Von Manstein was able to carve his way through Karkof and make a breakout, knew why the Blitzkreig began and also why Freddie Meschuescmit [check name ed] managed to come up with fuel injection to make his 109s do stuff the others could only dream of. All that to say, yes, 1996 was another world. 10 yrs before Steve Jobs rolled out the iPhone (what was to be the 'smart phone) ..essentially unchaged since that 2006 iPhone. (All added tech is for gov conveience.) Cottage hospitals still existed, as did the PDSA (people's dispensery for sick animals) where you paid what you could. You could afford to visit Warwick Castle still, and of course expect to leave on a Friday mid day and arrive at Newquey in a reasoable time, unlike gridlock today where getting about is both a nightare and a gamble. Weather maps were 'non hysterical'
