'tax hikes and spending cuts of around £40billion'
what is the point, it's a drop in the fking ocean. 3 trillion debt, interest on that 120billion every 365 days, principal not reduced on iota.
We've had austerity since 2008 when Mervin King introduced QE to ... how did he put it in that documentary I posted ...

oh yes, he (we/they) didn't want the amount of 'money' to 'go down anymore' and he/they didn't want 'another 1930s depression'

Quantitative easing ... what that will do is 'increase asset prices', and that will 'lead to more spending', said fat man with glasses who was head of bank of england private bank.
Well 18 years later Mervin King should be getting his cheque book and paying HRMC all his money in fines. Him and his kings of the universe 'experts' at the LSE have right proper made a complete balls up. Although great for some, absolute revolutionary misery for vast majority, and going forward a growing majority of people with fack all in terms of 'stakes' in 'society', which ironically is all these politicians (and then bankers) have warbled on about since 1978.
