I am following the advice of my soul guru knee man in texas. take the weight off! don't fukc about, take

the weight off give the knee chance to recover. I don't use them around the house but outside yes.

I got caught out 2 weeks ago, went to local supermarket to buy bag of catfood crunchies, took me ages, had to lie down in grass outside. then I did a boot sale with my neighbour and finished the day totally boloxed.

that was 8 days ago. I had a go at petanque and didn't help.

I then refound my guy from el paso, or santa fe I forget, and went back to basics.

first thing, particularly in my case : get the INFLAMMATION DOWN

so far this is getting a little better. It's better than it was a week ago anyway. How much better it gets, that's the unknown. do this through rest, and .. gentle exercise ...

pickup swings (swing legs off a table, or back of pick up truck to 'cleanse the space between the femer and shin bone'

firing your glut muscles, (butt muscles) If these are not firing sooner or later your err muscles (quads I think) in the front of your thighs will overcompensate and pull your knee cap/tighten the joint between femer and shin bone. and or the problem ftd has, muscle that runs down outside of knee will shorten/pinch.

ankles. make them do circles

arcillies tendon. make it work right

arches of feet. v important. in early 2015 I would awake in the night with massive leg cramps and toes bent. this was an important warning of what would go on to become, left bow leg, misaligned ankle joint problem with knee I now have.

toes, crack the knucles of the toes. there's tendons under the arch that need to be stretched, also see arches of feet. see ankles, see calfs, see butt muscles.

All connected all must/should be in balance.

bottom line from my man in el paso , go easy, be gentle. do not rush for knee replacement or in milder cases, injections.

do not, force things. Do: 'pick-up tailgate leg swings (or in my case my garden table leg swings), do ankles twists, use of walking aids a must to take weight off knee joint. recovery takes time.

course he doesn't personally know me or my lower body setup but I have tried to tailor his advice to suit where I am.

I have no idea if I'm pissing in the wind and will have to bite the bullet and get a prosthetic knee. I know if I go to see a surgeon he'll tell me I should. I've been told by the 75 yr old doctor I saw last week it would be covered by my insurance, but it's not about the money (although it would be if I had to pay the 4k I was quoted in 2018) I just don't want to loose the knee if I can, quite literally, 'help it'.

make the omlette by breaking the eggs. Maybe it will work. If it doesnt' i've got nothing to lose in that respect. Unlike the guy in Belfast last night, who possibly never saw it coming [no pun intended...]
