Andorra, got to laugh really
With all the EES crap that the %&!*@ing EU are bringing in Andorra has been thrown into a bit of turmoil. They've been trying to cosy up to the EU in recent years without joining or contributing or giving up any sovereignty. Basically trying to get the benefits without the Shit.
So along comes EES which is a problem because the EU are trying to pretend that Andorra is part of Schengen when it is not (they've even put a Schengen sign up at the Spanish border with a ring of stars and "Andorra" printed in the middle which is bollox but there it is.
Thing is, Andorra relies heavily on South American migrant workers, especially Argentinians, for temporary staff in the ski seasons. They are mostly not EU citizens so can't stay in the EU more than 90 days. Up till now that wasn't a problem because they could stamp into the EU arriving in Spain then stamp out again when leaving Spain into Andorra. So they'd officially spend one day in the EU before spending 4 or 5 months in Andorra working, then another day in the EU in transit back to Buenos Aires or wherever.
According to the EU, that was going to have to stop next April, right after the end of the ski season. Legally crap because Andorra isn't an EU member state and there is no agreement for any of this, but when has legality ever stopped the EU?
Ok, so that gave Andorra a year to cobble something together. Make some agreement, or whatever.
Step forward Spain, who have just announced that they are bringing this forward to the beginning of February, right in the middle of the Fucking ski season because, yeah, Fuck Andorra right!
Laughing my arse off. It's going to be a clusterFuck.
